We keep things simple.

What we collect
Public visitors: we collect no personal information when you browse the calendar. No login is required.
Organizers (account holders): we collect your email, password (hashed), display name, organization type, location, optional bio, optional website, and optional profile image — all of which you provide directly when signing up and setting up your profile.
Event submissions: event details you submit (title, description, date, location, contact links, etc.) become public once approved by a moderator.
Reporters: if you flag an event, your report (reason, optional message, optional email) is shared only with our moderation team.
How we use it
- To publish your events on the public calendar.
- To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, submission updates).
- To respond when you contact us.
- To moderate the platform and act on flags.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third-party advertisers.
External CTAs
RSVP, volunteer sign-up, and contact links on event pages typically point to third-party platforms (Eventbrite, Google Forms, Mailchimp, organization websites). When you click those, you leave SyncforChange and the destination's privacy policy applies.
Cookies & tracking
We use a single first-party cookie (sfc_session) to keep you logged in if you have an organizer account. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking scripts.
Data retention & deletion
Approved events stay on the public calendar indefinitely (they are historical record). Pending submissions older than 6 months may be cleared. To delete your account or request data removal, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
